My name is Marina Ćorić. I'm 24 and I come from Zadar, Croatia. From an early age I was interested in drawing and all things art. I finished school as a fashion designer but never continued in that direction. At the University I studied History of Art, English and Spanish but in the end gave up on all of it because it wasn't what I really wanted. In my teenage years I was also starting out as a model but gave up on that too. In 2007 I bought my first digital compact camera - Olympus FE-190 and became more serious about photography in 2008. I decided to create art and photography on my own by improvising and being my own model. Most of the work in my gallery is made with the same compact camera, but recently I finally bought a DSLR - Nikon D3100 and I hope to improve. Even though the majority of my work are self-portraits I like to think my gallery is varied. I am also very much interested in animal, nature, street and abstract photography. But the truth is I mostly enjoy doing self-portraits because it gives me freedom to experiment on different levels - with make-up, emotions and locations. Basically, it's creating different characters and stories. Recently I finished a graphic design course. Now I'm preparing for Art Academy and in parallel working on my art and photography.
